The Fall is the fourth studio album by British virtual band Gorillaz. It was recorded during the North American leg of the Escape to Plastic Beach World Tour. The album was first announced on 20 December 2010 and officially released on 19 April 2011. The album features fewer guest artists than previous Gorillaz albums; collaborators include Bobby Womack and Paul Simonon of The Clash.

The Fall is the fourth studio album by English virtual band Gorillaz. The entirety of the album was recorded and produced with group co-founder Damon Albarn's iPad during the North American leg of the Escape to Plastic Beach World Tour, from October to November 2010.

The Fall is Gorillaz fourth studio album. It was initially released to fan club members on December 25, 2010 with a full physical copy release in April 18, 2011, a year after they released their third album, Plastic Beach. According to the story of The Gorillaz, The Fall was made solely by lead singer 2D, on his hiatus from The Gorillaz between the making of their 2nd and 3rd albums.

The Gorillaz have released their free album, The Fall, this Christmas just like they promised. The album was created using the iPad and features familiar guests such as Bobby Womack. It definitely sounds more experimental than their previous albums and contains less vocals than a normal release as well

reflection of its time, namely, the autumn Gorillaz spent touring the . It’s an aural journal, a sonic sketchbook that carries much of the same palette as Plastic Beach, yet it’s muted to the point that all the colors smear, the music taking on the same washed-out impressionistic qualities of The Good, the Bad & the Queen. Appealing as this may be, The Fall winds up a little ephemeral, its pleasures as fleeting as the scenery passing outside the windows of a tour bus.

  • Mine came with a dish warp, but the Vinyl Flat took care of that after a good cleaning on the RCM. No pops, clicks or issues, sounds great and it's a great album. Happy to have grabbed it.

  • Pretty bummed that my THE FALL is almost unplayable. There is some skipping on side A and side B is completely fudged. From reading these comments its clear to me that this is a manufacturing issue. Where is the quality control? I'm in the process of attempting to return the record(bought from a seller here) and gonna take my chances on AMAZON and re-order. Wish me luck!!!

  • Amazon Italy just shipped a copy to me, so it seems they came good on their stock in the end.

  • Inspecting the outer sleeve, it seems that the cardboard is as basic as it can get, with glued flaps on top not perfectly lined up with the edge.Other than that, there is no indication from the outside that this is a 2019 RDS record, with the only date being listed is 2010 on the back. Even the record has no indication of it being made in 2019.The inner sleeve has small illustrations of different things, I'd say it is one step up from a basic inner sleeve. Although I might prefer an antistatic inner sleeve than this cardboard pocket. The record itself is very pretty to look at, I would call the color a dark olive green, looking at the picture on the listing here, it looks lime green, my copy is way darker, with swirls. I like it.When it comes to the quality of the sound, my copy was flawless when it came to the A-side, but upon switching to B-side, the skipping starts immedeatly, with 4+ skips on parish of space dust ALONE. The record is also a bit dirty with fragments of dust covering this side slightly more than the others. This really bothers me as Parish is my favorite song on this side.WHY could the skipping not be on the yodel song.... why......oh god why!?!?!No, it had to be on my favorite song, of course!Although, glad I got it!

  • I have both issues. Both the outer and inner sleeves of the 2019 version are exactly the same quality as the original, and the print quality is the same. The vinyl of the original weighs 187g. The new one is 130g, but that rarely makes much difference in my experience.

  • Got my copy today. When I removed the lp form it's sleeve it appeared to be a bit dirty. But dispite that, there were just a few skips and pops. I don't really mind that, all that matters to me now is that I have The Fall in my collection! Totally happy with the record! And nice colour too.

  • No warp or skipping on mine. A bit of unwanted surface noise, but nothing I can’t stand. I might’ve just been lucky enough to get a good copy. ????????‍♂️ For any interested buyers, I’d ask the seller to play test it and inform you of any warping. That’s probably the best option instead of just chancing it and buying a sealed copy.

  • I've had 2 copies of this and they both skip on "The Parish of Space Dust".

  • My copy is flawless. Happy to have this in my collection

  • My transition from Parish to Snakes has a gap and Joplin Spider ends too early, I’m considering replacing it

  • Well, I guess I was one of the lucky ones; my copy is flawless! Flat, clean, and no warps at all. Beautiful dark olive green record, too. Picked it up at Newbury Comics on RSD.

  • poor QC on this one - returned a dish warped copy to get a replacement...guess what...which was also dish warped!

  • returned to the shop...they return to the label. my experience contacting labels is a complete waste of time unless they are small and then by default have to care about their customers. anyway seems that many copies are dish warped!

  • Did you return to the place of purchase or the record label?

  • Mine skips and is warped. Pretty bummed about it. Those who have 'fixed' it if you could share the details of what exactly you did, I would appreciate it.

  • It sounds really good. I'm almost willing to overlook the slight dishwarp. The low end is absolutely fantastic on this.

  • No problems with Side A. My Side B, track 1 did have the skipping problem but two cleanings and playing through the track 4 times with the needle dropped finally cleared it of whatever was causing it. It is more of the olive than forest green as well. But just goes to show, that maybe it's not quite the defect it first appears to be.

  • I'm having the same issue with track 1 on Side B.

  • Mine came slightly warped but nothing that my clamp couldn't fix. Sounds surprisingly good, especially for a (most likely) digitally sourced album. No surface noise and I wasn't having any skipping on my Technics SL-D1

  • I have a Record Doctor clamp, which you can find pretty cheap. The JA Michelle clamp is pretty highly regarded too, and has a felt washer included that should help pressing down badly warped records.

  • Could someone help me ? Where can I find the pressing number of mine ? IVE searched everywhere .. I feel like I have a dud

  • This record has no pressing number, you may be thinking of the 2011 pressing of this album which was numbered.

  • Just exactly how many of these are there? I have seen up to like, 8000. Maybe 10000? But that seems way too much for a record this "rare" and expensive

  • My pressing is flawless. Flat, dead silent and sounds great. No skips or unwanted noise. This album actually sounds really good on vinyl with a thick, buttery low end, makes my speakers shake. The electronics remind me of the rich analog sound of early Depeche Mode releases. Excellent clarity and detail on these jams too. The treble is crisp and clean and the percussion is punchy and realistic. Great definition, great dynamic, full sound.

  • Not the best of pressings but a good bath in the anti static And brush bath sorts it and vastly improves the sonics

  • Side A of my copy is badly bowled with a fairly significant edge warp. Still tracks okay, but my tonearm is riding a rollercoaster. Modern vinyl pressings... Pssh. Sound quality is excellent and no skips on my copy. Wish it was flat though.

  • Side A sounds fine on my copy, but Side B has some noticeable surface noise on the quieter tracks, and track B1 The Parish of Space Dust seems to have multiple skips. Disc also came a bit warped. EDIT: After cleaning the disc there is now only one small skip at the beginning of B1. So try cleaning if you have skips. Still some noticeable surface noise/distortions at beginning of B3.

  • I didn't notice any surface noise with my copy, but The Parish of Space Dust had multiple skips as well. Whatever was causing them must have been dislodged by my stylus because it now plays perfectly. Sorry to hear that about your copy...

  • My copy is pretty warped but luckily no problems with skipping or anything

  • Does anyone know if this pressing is numbered similarly to the previous one? Also where was it listed that only 4.5k were produced I havent been able to find that number anywhere
