Soul Blues, is an album by blues musician Lightnin' Hopkins recorded in 1963 and released on the Bluesville label. I'm a Crawling Black Snake" which has little in common with Blind Lemon Jefferson's song, is framed by oddly impressionistic guitar".

The first song on this album, "I'm Going to Build Me a Heaven of My Own," adescribes an encounter with a bearded man claiming to be Jesus Christ. Hopkins also puts his personal stamp on Willie Dixon's "My Babe" and Smokey Hogg's "Too Many Drivers," among others.

Lightnin' Hopkins Format: Vinyl. For Soul Blues Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound created a 24/192K hi-res file from a needle drop on a clean original LP. This was done because the tape supplied for mastering proved to be from a needle drop itself, not the original, which has been lost since the early 1970s. Smith took the original LP, did a new needle drop and meticulously worked to eliminate the minimal tics and pops that remained. Then he mastered the album for LP and SACD from the hi-res file. We are amazed by the quality," says Chad Kassem, Acoustic Sounds/Analogue Productions CEO. "Now that the tape is lost,. Black Ghost Blues (Album Version) by Lightnin' Hopkins.

BPM Profile Soul Blues. Album starts at 84BPM, ends at 66BPM (-18), with tempos within the -BPM range. Try refreshing the page if dots are missing). Recent albums by Lightnin' Hopkins. The Sonet Blues Story. California Mudslide (And Earthquake). Lightnin' and the Blues.

Down Home Blues (Lightnin' Hopkins album). Down Home Blues is an album by blues musician Lightnin' Hopkins recorded in 1964 and released on the Bluesville label. The Penguin Guide to Blues Recordings said "Gaskin and Lovelle's parts were probably added at overdub sessions. On Down Home Blues only "I Was Standing on 75 Highway" is Lightnin' at full strength". All compositions by Sam "Lightnin'" Hopkins. Lets Go Sit On the Lawn" – 4:10.
